The Evangelical Free Church of Canada (EFCC) has published its post-conference report following its biennial gathering, held this June at Winnipeg Evangelical Free Church. Delegates from EFCC churches across Canada travelled to Winnipeg for what the denomination described as a celebration and homecoming. The conference was centred on the theme “In All Things — The Centrality of Jesus Christ,” a focus chosen to underscore what unites the movement as free evangelical churches.
The EFCC is the Canadian member of the international free evangelical family, and its biennial conference serves as the movement’s principal assembly for worship, teaching, and governance. This year’s plenary sessions were led by Dr. Matthew St. John, lead pastor of New Hope Evangelical Free Church in Minnesota and chair of the Board of Governors of Trinity Western University. His three conference sessions will be made available to all EFCC churches for use in Sunday services and small-group settings.
During the Annual General Meeting held at the start of the conference, delegates elected new members to the Board of Directors and committees and approved the 2027 EFCC budget alongside the 2025 audited financial statements. At a President’s Banquet hosted by Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in Steinbach, Trinity Western University president Dr. Todd Martin reported on the university’s progress, including the arrival of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) at TWU. The evening also featured testimonies from students supported through the Project:LEAD bursaries and a greeting from Rae Phillips of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA).
