The Midsouth Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church has opened a search for its next superintendent, inviting nominations from across the denomination through 1 October 2026. The superintendent gives spiritual leadership to the conference, working collaboratively with its pastors and churches as they pursue God's mission together.
The person chosen will be elected at the conference's 2027 Family Reunion, its annual meeting, and will guide the Midsouth Conference into what leaders describe as its next chapter of ministry. The Midsouth Executive Board is serving as the search committee and has been entrusted with presenting a single nominee to that meeting for election.
Nominations are confidential and may be submitted by email, with a statement of qualifications available for those considering the role. Flint Barnes, who chairs the search committee, asked the wider Covenant family to join the process in prayer, describing the search ultimately as God's work of discernment.
