The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) has announced that Dr Peirong Lin will conclude her service as Chief of Staff on 31 December 2026, after more than eight years in a succession of roles with the global evangelical body. Lin joined the WEA in 2018 in its Department of Theological Concerns, was appointed Deputy Secretary General for Operations in 2021 — the first woman to hold that office — and became Chief of Staff in March 2026.

The WEA describes itself as a network of national and regional evangelical alliances, affiliates and partners. In her years of service Lin helped organise two General Assemblies, in Sentul near Jakarta in 2019 and in Seoul in 2025, and the alliance said her institutional knowledge provided continuity across the tenures of three Secretaries General. She also hosted webinars, wrote for and supported the Evangelical Review of Theology, and co-edited with Amanda Jackson “Co-Workers and Co-Leaders: Women and Men Partnering for God’s Work” (2021) in the WEA Global Issues Series.

“Peirong has served WEA with faithfulness, competence and a deep love for the global Church,” said WEA Secretary General Rev. Botrus Mansour. “Her knowledge of our work and our people has been a gift to this organization through many seasons.” Godfrey Yogarajah, chair of the International Council, thanked her for building strong relationships across “our global family”. Lin said her eight years had given her “a front-row seat to the vitality of evangelical churches around the world”. She remains in post until the end of the year to oversee the handover, and the WEA said it has begun the search for a successor.
